| WELCOME HOME WILDLIFE! |

Imagine a garden visited by red squirrels, hedgehogs, bats or rare butterflies. The Welcome Home Wildlife project could help to deliver just that, with advice and expert guidance on how to achieve your very own Garden of Eden (snake optional).
We are providing funding for selected gardens and households to undergo a makeover, to make them more attractive to wildlife. These gardens will be then used as examples of what can be achieved with some help, hard work and the right know-how.
The project has recruited 20 gardens to receive the makeover, ranging from small gardens in the middle of town, to gardens in the country; all can benefit from this project, with practical advice on what to plant and what sorts of plants will attract what types of creatures.
We will also provide advice on how to make bird and bat boxes, bug 'hotels' or how to make a wildlife friendly pond. This project has something for everyone.
Households taking part will keep a record (journal, photographs, video) of the changes they make and what new wildlife is attracted as a result.
